Your forgiveness is entirely up to you to choose. It really is up to you whether you want to forgive or not. Sometimes you have to shift your perspective and think about it from someone else's point of view in order to change the severity of the situation.

Did they really betray your trust with malicious intent in the first place, or is that something you are fabricating to tell yourself? Are you aware of how much of your own thought processes are involved in the moment that may actually have nothing to do with that which is at hand at all? Will you allow the small things to get in the way of what truly matters?

Of course, we all know forgiveness doesn't mean we have to forget it ever happened. A change in our actions is the truest way we can express our apologies. Genuine forgiveness makes us feel lighter rather than allowing past transgressions to weigh us down.

Throw out the stuff that has no meaning over your life and choose to keep what matters most to you closest to your heart. Finding forgiveness in your heart means you can let go of the unremarkable things to have room for the stuff you want to hold onto and cherish to remember forever. What happens if you no longer have the chance to forgive someone, would you hold a sense of regret then?
