Truth Over Excuses

Have you ever found yourself stuck in place by the need to ensure perfection over the drive to just take action? How often to you put off the execution by making justified excuses in its place? What happens when you actually have to hold accountability for your shortfalls? 

At some point, you have to rearrange your priorities in order to get it done or face the conflicts you are avoiding with others. The excuses you provide aren't for them, it's for you--to feel justified, unless they are willing to call you out and hold you culpable. 

Eventually, we have to accept the blame if we want to make the change happen in our favor. We must set aside the excuses in order to perfect the craft we are working on. We can overcome the need for validation from others that we don't allow ourselves to do, especially since they aren't going to take on that responsibility knowing it could cause friction.

Do you want someone who tells you what you want to hear, or someone who is willing to tell you what you need to hear? Truth is more important to hear than comfort or opinions, because it builds trust and solidity when it is most needed, even if you aren't mentally ready to fully grasp that truth someone is sharing with you in hopes of enlightenment.

If you are surrounding yourself with people who you can't talk with about real and personal topics of discussion, they aren't true friends that are there for you. If you only have surface deep common interests, maybe it's time to cut those fake ties and know they are at best only an acquaintance. 

Know that your time is valuable, and not everyone deserves it just because they think so. That also goes for activities though, too. Know which priorities truly deserve your time and efforts, and commit to the ones that matter most to you. Holding yourself accountable must come first, because you deserve your own truth most.
